Swimsuits That Suit You

Don't dread bikini season, but instead flaunt your stuff!

Every woman has their own distinct body shape. There is not one shape that every woman must categorize themselves with. While doing a body shape quiz, I found myself somewhere between athletic, curvy, lanky, and busty. So...what the heck am I? None. And all of them. At the same time.

Because I don't believe all women can identify with one single body type, I will throw some tips around for swimwear that's corresponds to YOUR needs (and not what your body shape quiz says you need).

Here are some tips for every body quirk so that you can look head to toe fabulous this summer!

BROAD SHOULDERS

Athletic figures come with broader shoulders, and halter necklines break up the shoulders making them appear smaller. 

AVOID: bandeaus, shapeless tankinis

LONG TORSO

High waisted bottoms will shorten your torso and elongate your legs!

AVOID: low cut bottoms that make your torso appear even longer

SHORT TORSO

The trick to elongate your torso is to lift your bust and wear a (appropriately) low cut bottom

AVOID: high waisted bottoms and tops that don't lift your chest

CURVY

Look for solid colours & prints to not distort your feminine proportions! Go for supportive tops that draw the eye to your assets

AVOID: skimpy and stringy bikinis (unless you're comfortable with all eyes on you)

PEAR SHAPED

Look for swimwear that elongates your torso and draws the eye towards your bust with cleavage, detailing, and halter straps.

AVOID: eye catching bottoms that cut awkwardly around your thighs

APPLE SHAPED

Wrap around swimsuits create a waist while the solid red colour slims your tummy

AVOID: tankinis that accentuate your top

SMALL BUTT

MMVA Recap

The MMVA's this Sunday were a huge party! The event that thousands of fans have been waiting for all year was so worth the wait!

Many die hard fans camped outside MuchMusic headquarters for days in anticipation of the event. The red carpet was elegant and full of hot celebrities strutting down like Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Classified, Avril Lavigne, Lucy Hale, and more!  Hot Canadian (and non-Canadian) celebrities performed their music and the fans never stopped screaming! 

PSY co-hosting really had me entertained, I couldn't help but laugh at his quirky and foreign sense of humour.... "Stop taking pictures and bounce!"

Drake's unannounced appearance took everyone by surprise and made the night extra special for so many people (especially myself)!

I don't like to talk about the winners of awards because in my heart I believe everyone is a winner (cheesy I know) but I do love to talk about the fashion.

 I was blown away by the what I saw on the red carpet. Summer trends like patterned dresses, sequins, low cut V necks, backless, strapless, short, flowy, colourful... I was in fashion heaven!

I told myself to choose a best dressed but was caught between way too many. So I've decided to just talk about a few of my favourites...

Liz Trinnear was the beautiful lady in red. This dress took my breath away. The vibrant colour made her look like a sexy Disney princess. 

The waist cuts, low neckline, and backless style would make dealing with "the girls" difficult for the average lady, but we had the perfect fashion solutions to make Liz rock her look.

Pretty Little Liar's Shay Mitchell looked AMAZING in her 2 piece outfit with summer colours and patterns!

Chloe Wilde WOWed the crowd in her sweet & sexy cross cut pink dress! 

Lauren Toyota gleamed on the red carpet, looking like a glamorous mermaid...Gosh I love sequins!

Taylor Swift stole the show with her tight fitting black&white patterned dress. Elegant and classy with a hint of sexiness. I have to say out of all the celebrities, Taylor Swift really won me over with her million dollar dress.

There were so many well dressed celebs and VJs at the 2013 MMVA's, it was so hard just to choose a few!

Lunch Beat

What better way to spend your lunch break? Lunch Beat is an event that travels to different cities. For one hour (usually starting at noon), they play music, serve food and drinks, and let you PARTY!!
It's a great way to get your bum off that desk and shake it.

If you enjoy house music and letting loose, this event is for you!

Having attended it myself, I had no idea what to expect the first time. On my way there I could hear the music from blocks away! Set up in a park in the Plateau of Montreal, people were dancing like crazy. Some men took there shirts off, some people brought their dogs and some even brought their babies. Believe me when I say this event is for everyone!

This shirtless man with a glittery pink hat made my day!

You feel a sense of community while dancing. You can see people from all over town in their work uniforms just having fun. The music is GREAT and the food is healthy and delicious. Different company booths are set up so you can try their products. Alcohol is also available for those of legal age (hum hum).

All ages, all jobs, all personalities are welcome to this event. To put it simply, if you want to have fun on your lunch break, head on over.

MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

The MMVAs are only 3 days away and we have our popcorn ready! 
MuchMusic presents the MuchMusic Video Awards to honour the year's best music videos. Held in the streets of downtown Toronto, it's expected to be the craziest night of the year. This year we are expecting guests like Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran. PSY (known for his millions of views on YouTube for "Gangnam Style") is also co-hosting with the MuchMusic VJs!

Can we all talk about how stylish the VJs are for a sec? Every show, they are head to toe FANCY!
